ABOUT US
Cherish Narok’s Children is a 501c3 non-profit set up to help a children’s home in Kenya’s Narok County, where the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve is located. These 60 plus children are orphans or have family unable to care for them. We have teamed up with Amani Mara, an Ecolodge in the Mara, in our efforts to enrich the children’s lives by supporting and encouraging their education. Kenyan secondary public school is not free – it is, in fact rather costly. This help includes paying tuitions, hiring tutors to work with the children who struggle in school and purchasing computers, uniforms and other supplies. Without our help and that of the home where they live, the children could face life as cattle herders, early marriage, FGM or life on the streets, All donations go directly to the children. We do not pay administrative or promotional expenses from these donations. Those costs are underwritten. Thank you for your help and support. These children depend upon us.

The adventurous day included a transport to town, a lunch and shopping. The children look happy and satisfied with their choices. For the record – looks like the majority of boys chose new shoes,…

A renovation
We received an unexpected donation. Actually a generous company match. Because of this windfall, we felt safe enough financially to undertake a much needed renovation. The Children’s Home had a very rocky, uneven entrance to the main hall. One of the children is in a wheelchair and had to always wait for someone to help…

Harambee 2021
All pull together A long-standing Kenyan tradition, a harambee is a type of self-help event that’s deeply ingrained in the moral compass of the country. The word means “all pull together” in Kiswahili, Kenya’s national language On August 7, 2021 that’s exactly what our community in Northern California did to help the children half a…

I’m Caroline …
My name is Caroline. I have always thought of myself as a children’s ambassador especially to the less fortunate ones. I was a kindergarten teacher and later started visiting children’s homes, street and slum children. I donated clothes I collected and tried to get the children scholarships. My first encounter with AIC Siyaipei Children’s Home…
